What does tinting actually do?
And the shaping part?
It darkens your natural lashes and brows so they read fuller and more defined, no makeup needed. It won't grow new hair, but it makes every hair you've got show up, including those pale, fine little ones that usually disappear. Brows instantly look more shaped and your lashes look like you're wearing mascara when you're not.
That's me cleaning up and defining your brow shape to suit your face, tidying the strays and giving you a clean, polished line. Tint plus shape together is the combo that makes the biggest difference, your brows go from "meh" to done.
How long does it last?
Does it hurt?
The tint holds on the hairs about 2 to 4 weeks, sometimes longer. It can look a touch dark on day one because the skin around the hair picks up a little color too, but that softens within a day or two and settles into the perfect shade. The shape lasts until your hair grows back in, usually around 4 weeks.
Not at all. You lie there with your eyes closed for the tint. The shaping is just a quick tidy. Easy appointment, big payoff.
Why do I need a patch test first?
Because the dye sits right by your eyes, and a small number of people react to it, sometimes even people who've been tinted before. So before your first tint with me, I do a tiny patch test 24 to 48 hours ahead. It takes two minutes and it means I keep you completely safe. I'd rather do the boring step than risk your gorgeous face. Non-negotiable, but quick.
What if I have sensitive skin or allergies?
Tell me everything up front, any reactions to hair dye, sensitive skin, eczema, anything. There are gentler, dye-free options I can use, and I'll always patch test you. Your safety comes first, full stop.
Is there anyone who should skip it?
A few. If you've got an eye infection, a stye, conjunctivitis, recent eye surgery, or you're mid-chemo, let's wait or check with your doctor first. If you're pregnant or breastfeeding, just tell me and we'll talk it through. And take your contacts out before we start.
How do I prep?
Come with clean lashes and brows, no mascara, no makeup around the eyes. Skip the eyelash curler that day. That's it.
What do I do after?
Keep the area dry for 24 hours so the color sets properly, so no swimming, steam, saunas, or hot sweaty workouts, and go gentle washing your face. After that you're good to go.
How do I make the tint last?
Go easy on the oil-based cleansers, makeup removers, and exfoliants right on the area, they fade the color faster. Same with lots of sun and chlorine. Treat it gently and it'll stick around longer.
How often should I come back?
Every 3 to 4 weeks keeps you looking fresh and defined. A lot of my clients just fold it into their regular routine, pop in, get tinted and shaped, walk out polished.
